    Description

    Vintage Art Pottery Set
    Scallop Edge, Matte Blue Green, Pottery Vase Bowl , Van Briggle Pottery, Closed and Discontinued, Colorado Springs
    9 1/2" x 5" by 5 3/4"" high.
    Second piece is a Van Briggle Frog
    From 1899 to 2012, Van Briggle made some of the best American Art Pottery. This is a charming and well marked example of their work. The vase is finished in Van Briggle's Blue Green and has an overall turquoise color inside and out, with some excellent highlights.
    All of the expected Van Briggle marks are on the bottom. The blue of this glazes is the standard "ming blue" from Van Briggle. Established in 1899, Van Briggle Pottery & Tile was one of the oldest active art potteries in the United States, and considered one of the great American potteries for more than a century.
    The Van Briggle Pottery Studio closed forever in spring 2012. There won't be any Van Briggle pottery anymore. Rarer and rarer!
