  • Condition: Maker "AG" = Anita Gurney, know to have been at VB early 70's, gone by 1980, this is thought to be an earlier piece, as when we bought this from an estate sale in Boulder, CO it was 1978 and the Grand-Daughter told us some stories, etc..we bought 6-7 piece at that sale, her G-Ma worked at VB for 10-12 years and bought this there from Anita, as they were friends, it used to have a hand scribbled sticky note that said from Anita, to Lucy, Happy to have known and worked with you, enjoy my work. 9/72 (Which implied Sept 1972) still looking, this piece basically has been over flow VB pieces, wrapped in boxes in one of our not long ago 3 storage facilities (each 10 X 15 AC'd) finally cleaning out the last one! These "Corn Maidens" have been a VB staple since the line first started, I believe in early 1910-1912.This one is incredible, great mold, crisp fine details, crazy great perfect gorgeous glaze! Flawless!
