SET OF 2 RAREWHITE VAN BRIGGLE POTTERY PINE CONE
CANDLESTICK HOLDERS COLO SPGS
Handcrafted in the tradition of the Arts and Crafts movement that was so prevalent at the turn of the 20th century. Van Briggle Pottery was first produced in the Spring of 1901 by Artus Van Briggle in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He perfected the technique of making a satin matte glazed pottery.
Van Briggle lost his life to tuberculosis in 1904 and his wife carried on through 1912 when she sold the pottery company.
All the pieces were marked AA ( it looks like an igloo at 1st glance).
Colorado Springs was added to pieces made after 1920's and is usually abbreviated
to Colo Spgs due to space.
This is a pair of vintage Van Briggle Pine Cone on Leaf Candle Stick Holders in a beautiful white (cream) satin matte glaze, with an easy holder handle. The markings on the bottom are similar but not exact. One is in script and the other is printed. (please check out the pictures)
The candlestick holder each measure 7" long, 3.75" high. 4.75" wide.
The condition is excellent.
The Arts & Crafts style along with the satin matte white glaze give this pair a modern twist on a 70 or 80 year old pottery. They will make a beautiful statement in any room or decor.
